It's personal to you because you invest everything, it's not personal to them.

Setting up a business is one of the most personal things a person can do. You are investing time, energy and finances into a vision that only you can see. In some cases everything is put on the line. In others no one really believes you can do it.

All of this is part of being an entrepreneur. It’s personal for you not for them. I couldn’t understand it because it was personal to me. How could it not be? I was investing everything. One of the most challenging lessons I learned very early in my career is that it was not personal when some people undermined, backstabbed me or threw me under the bus.

The simple fact remains, it’s not personal for some people, it’s how they operate.

You have to decide how you want lead, where you invest everything and how to protect yourself from the daggers because they always come.

Two things to need to do:

  1. You need people who believe what you see, sometimes you are not enough
  2. You can’t take the behaviors of others personally.
