It is a complicated question because human beings will be human beings. Nuclear energy has several benefits (read my post from 16 January link below), but and it's very big BUT, given our current volatile and polarizing context, other energy sources come with less political risks.
My view:
We should be investing in nuclear energy. That investment should be in balance with other energy sources like wind and solar and only in economies that can cope with the upfront costs and impacts to the locale.
